Sunrise Maternity Beach Session - Panama City Beach, FL

We had a gorgeous sunrise session at the end of December. Talk about chilly!!! You’d never know how cold it was by these pictures though.

I love that more people are venturing out to our gorgeous beaches year-round. Sure, it’s too cold to swim but the beach is still breathtaking during the winter.

This sweet girl braved the cold and snuggled up next to Mom for most of the session. I couldn’t believe how well she did. Sunrise sessions happen early and happen quickly. We’re running against the clock of the sunrise. Once the sun gets high enough in the sky, DFP stops the session to avoid clients squinting. We also don’t want your entire backdrop to be white due to blown out highlights from the harsh sun.

We get asked quite a bit if we prefer sunrise or sunset sessions. Our response is always the same - definitely sunrise. There are less people to worry about, the birds make an appearance in the photos, and the sky is usually breathtaking.

If you are visiting Panama City Beach, FL in 2024, we would love the opportunity to work with your family.

When’s the best time to book your beach photographer?

The answer? As soon as you book your beach house.

Beach photographers book out MONTHS in advance. In fact, DFP is actually already booking into the summer of 2023. It’s crucial for you guys to book your desired photographer as soon as you know your dates.

Lighting plays a key role in how your images turn out so DFP only schedules sunrise and sunset sessions. That limits our availability for your sessions so the sooner you book, the better.

FAQ for beach sessions

  • Which Florida cities do you service?

A - Any cities within Bay County - Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach, etc.

  • How many family members can tag along?

A - There is not a limit for any of our packages but we do ask that you give us a headcount and a list of ages for any children being photographed. This helps us customize a workflow for your session.

  • Do we need to tell you anything specifically for our session?

A - We like to know how many family members will be attending, the ages of any children being photographed, AND we would like a list of anyone that has any disabilities that may prevent them from being able to walk long distances, hold children, etc. Again, this helps us create a better workflow for your session.

  • What do we wear?

Coordinate in dressy-casual attire. We do not recommend wearing the exact the same thing. When you’re too matchy, your images lose depth and details. It’s best to coordinate colors and patterns rather than wear the exact same attire or color. DFP offers a style guide board once you have scheduled a session with us.

We look forward to another amazing year!
